Sometimes it’s possible to upgrade your WordPress new version, and get some problems on your web site or get upgraded plugins. Do not be confused! There is solution to restore previous version of my WordPress website. Downgrading WordPress to previous version is a fast common way you can do in several cases facing problems.
Tip: Your data may be lost to any one after returning to the previous version. Make sure to back up your website before starting to go back to the previous version. Download previous WordPress versions.
To downgrade to previous version of your WordPress follow these steps:
First: Log in to WordPress dashboard then you should deactivate your web plugins.
Second: Exit the dashboard after completing the step.
Third: Locate your WordPress files in ftp client. You can access your WordPress files by several software like FireFTP or FileZiila.
Fourth: in this step you have to delete two major WordPress folder: wp-admin, wp-includes.
Fifth: Send WordPress Files from the previous version to the Site by using FTP.
Tip: Don’t confuse ‘wp-config.php’ with ‘wp-config-sample.php’. you don’t have to delete or transfer ‘wp-config.php’ file.
Sixth: Go to WordPress dashboard and select the ‘Update WordPress Database’
Now your WordPress version downgraded and is what you want.
Tip: It’s not recommended to use a previous version of WordPress while updated version is available.
How to downgrade plugins?
Sometimes you need to get your site’s previous plugin or theme on the website. There is some software which you can easily install and use to downgrade previous plugins. For example, wprollback might be a good chose for downgrading plugins. You can do it with a few clicks.
