If you want the text in a Word document to convert only one paragraph into a multi-column state, you need to place the text of the paragraph in the selection first. Then, go to Page Setup group from the Layout tab. click on the Columns, and select More Columns from the drop-down list.

It’s also necessary to tick the Line between option to create a line between the columns. Width and spacing area, you can give this value as much as you like per column. If you ticked Equal column width, all columns will be equal in size. If you remove them, you can add each column to the desired size. Adjust it.
Be sure to put ‘’Apply to’’ to selected text. Click OK to save the settings.
