Today, we’ll teach you how to make an instant photo collage from any image. In fact, we want to create an effect that looks like some random snapshots. But in fact, these small photos are our big picture. It has effects that are very complicated after running. But in fact, the effect is easy. This tutorial is written for Adobe Photoshop CC 2017.
You can find the changes you need to apply this effect to the lower versions of Photoshop.

Follow the below steps to make photo collage.
Step 1: Create a document
Open Adobe Photoshop and create a new document. Drag the image you determined to the Photoshop document. Be careful to drag the image to the upper strip of the Photoshop document. It fits the background canvas to the image automatically.
Step 2: Create a new layer
Go to layers pallet and select Create New Layer as you see in below image.
Step 3: Draw a Rectangle
Select the new layer (Layer 1). Press M from the keyboard or select Rectangular Marquee Tool from toolbox located in left side of the screen. Draw a rectangle.
Step 4: Fill square
Select Paint Buck Tool or press G from keyboard. Set the color of square to white.
Step 5: Draw a square
Now, draw a square inside the rectangle and fill it with the white color by following the previous step. Hold shift to draw a square. You can deselect the rectangles by pressing Ctrl+D.
Step 6: Delete inside the square
Now, delete inside the square by pressing the Delete key from the keyboard. Be careful not to deselect the square before deleting inside of it.
Step 7: Copy the new shape
Now, copy the new shape you have created in layer 1 as much as you like. Select the shape by Rectangular Marquee Tool. Copy it by pressing Ctrl+C then paste it by pressing Ctrl+V.
You can rotate the shapes to make them more beautiful. Press Ctrl+T or to rotate each shape. You have to apply the rotation for each shape.
Step 8: Merge the shapes layers
You should merge all layers except the background layer. Select shapes layers. Hold Ctrl and select layers one by one. Now, right click on one of the layers and select Merge Layers.
Step 9: Select the shapes in the created layer
Select the new layer you have created (its name in our project is Layer 3). Select Magic Wand Tool or press W.
Now, select the upper left of the image.
Press Add to Selection and click the areas that you have not selected.
Unlock the background Layer by clicking on the lock you see in below image.
Now, press Delete key from the keyboard.
Select Eyedropper Tool (I) then select foreground color to choose a suitable color to the background of the image. When you choose the suitable color from the image, go back to the toolbox and select Paint Bucket Tool. Now, click on the areas where does not have any color.
