The most important part of any software is the file output, which means that you are the first to display the output after you make changes to a layer or file. This will make it clear to you that your file is the one you wanted or should take a lot of time to fix the file. Of course, before you can send the document in a browser or for a chat, you need to know a bit about its settings. You should Set-up Illustrator files for printing before starting to work. In this article, I want to review how to set-up a document for printing in Illustrator.
Step1: To create a new document, go to the File menu, click on the New option and the New (Ctrl + N) shortcut.
Step2: Click on the New opens a window called New Document.
Step3: In the New Document window, in the ‘Name’ box, you can create a name for the file you are creating.
Step4: Profile is a predefined setup for a new document. For example, now that we want to create a document for printing, we will put the Profile section on the print and the program will offer us the settings for document printing. So you can have a set of pre-programmed settings in the profile section according to the type of document.
Step4: In the ‘Artboards’ section, we do not make any changes, and we want to have an Artboard for our new document.
Step5: The next section is Size. In this section, we can select the size of the page we are creating. The program by default selects the A4 for pages that are ready for printing.
Step6: In the Width section, we can accurately measure the width of the page, and in the Height section we can see the exact size of our page length.
Step7: In the Orientation or Rotation section, we can choose the page’s vertical or horizontal orientation, which is the default on portrait mode and will not make any changes.
Step8: To use other scales, such as inches or centimeters, you can select the scale you want from the ‘Units’ box.
Step9: The Bleed section is the margin of our page that is likely to be cut during printing, so it’s better to margin on each side of the page to cut. There is a lock at the end of the Bleed part if it is locked when the value is set to one side of the page, such as above. All the parts of the page are set to the same value. We got some idea how to set-up a document for printing in Illustrator.
Step10: In the Advanced section, a set of special settings for the print document is available to you.
For example, the color mode is set to ‘CMYK’.
Also, the resolution is set at ‘300’ as high as possible.
Also, ‘Align to Pixel Gride’ is set to ‘No’.
But if you want to change this setting, you can apply the settings to your preferences by clicking the ‘Advanced’ button. But now we do not make any changes to these settings, and click on the “ok” button to adjust the settings. Create a comment on the print job.
Step11: As you can see, there is a red line around the paper outside of the white box. The red line is the same as the ‘Bleed’ range. Finally, you realized How to set-up a document for printing in Illustrator.
Tip: It is better to do all the settings before starting. But if during the program part of the settings need to be changed, you can change the settings and there will be no problem.
The color or fashion of CMYK, which is said to be quadruped, is derived from the four primary colors of Cyan(blue), Magenta (Red), Yellow, and Black. CMYK’s fashion is used in the print industry and almost anywhere else, where colors are supposed to appear physically on paper or anything else. In the printing industry, different colors are made with CMYK fashion and are made of blending four colors: blue, red, yellow and black. Because in this fashion, colors are physically mixed and made, so there are limitations in the variety and number of colors that can be combined with the four main colors.
