How to update Drupal?
People who are new to Drupal usually will ask why they should change their Drupal core version to the latest version and how to do it. Usually, when a new version of Drupal is introduced, the new version addresses Drupal security issues and code. That is why it’s recommended that you upgrade to the core after introducing the new Drupal version. The article shows you how to update Drupal. It means how to update a minor Drupal version (e.g. 7.3.1) to a minor Drupal version (e.g. 7.5.0).
Steps to update Drupal
Follow the steps to update Drupal.
Step1: backup your website first. See this tutorial, if you don’t know how to do that.
Step2: set your website in Maintenance mode (Configuration—> maintenance).
Step3: Remove all files. Note that you shouldn’t remove website files like .htaccess and robots.txt.
Step4: Now, you should upload new files. You can do this by FileZilla application.
Tip: If you need to make changes to the two files .htaccess and robots.txt in the new version, we need to be careful whether they are applied. Check out the update description for each version.
Step5: Type (yourdomain.com/update.php)in URL address to update it.
Step6: Now Get Drupal out of the maintenance mode.
