Simple way to cut (Clipping) an image in Adobe Illustrator

We often use Raster images or pixel-based images in Illustrator. Today, we want to teach you the crop technique for cutting pictures. This technique allows us to crop the images of the stretcher directly into Illustrator without using Photoshop and any other Raster editor. You can cut an image through crop technique, follow below steps:

Step1: Enter your desired image into the work area

File —> Place

Step2: Select the tool (Rectangle (M)) and draw a rectangle as much as the image you want to separate.

Step3: Select a pixel and rectangle image, then press Ctrl + 7 to create a Clipping Mask.

Step 4: While the selection is still active, set the Blending Mode of all the objects in the Transparency tab in a setting other than Normal.

Step6: Here you have to remove two Clipping Masks in the Layers panel and remove all objects from group mode.

You did it simply and cut your image with ‘Crop Masking’ technique.

Is there another way to cut an image in AI?

Definitely you can use a few other ways to cut an image in Adobe Illustrator. Lasso tool and knife tool are two other ways to cut an image in AI.
